Theme Thursday ~ Imagination

The more I’ve played with PS, the more confidence I’ve gained.  While I still have so much to learn, it’s exciting to play and to get a feel for my likes and dislikes.  Before I started playing, I thought I would play up the frames, the colors, the texts…but I find that not to be so.

This is the first “project” I’ve done, and there’s certainly a few things I might’ve changed, but I wanted to wrap it up.  I love it for today’s theme, because not only did putting this together take some creative imagination on my part (even though it’s not altogether exciting), but it also begs the question about the workings of Calder’s imagination in these shots.

These were taken two weeks ago while the guys were splitting firewood.  He wandered around for at least 30 minutes!  He went from aimless wandering to marching on a mission – oh how I’d love to know what he was thinking as he climbed around fallen limbs, tumbled into the damp leaves (which he didn’t love), and proudly wore papa’s hat!

Learning to Shine ~ Best Shot Monday

I fully intended to post this picture (among others) for Stacy’s playtime theme last week, but [insert excuse].  I did have the chance to play around with PS a little more this week/weekend and I’d like to say I’m starting to get it, but I think that’s being generous.  There are still SO many things that happen that I don’t know I could duplicate.

I followed the steps in this tutorialto build more a different type of frame and I think it worked relatively well.  I’m still playing with borders and such.  I believe the image itself is SOOC (so I could have played along with Melody on Saturday too, but [insert different excuse]).  I was SO excited to get this shot!  We just replaced the batteries in Calder’s little toy (first and last time since they were already dying a few hours later!) and I took this in near darkness using my remote.  So, a few days late and in under the wire tonight…here’s my best shot for this fine Monday (it’s even better big)!
